Within the museum, we offer comprehensive annual educational programs, complemented by a diverse array of educational activities and workshops. These initiatives cover artistic and archaeological themes and are harmoniously integrated into the Ministry of Culture anniversary events.

Our main objective is to acquaint participants with the permanent exhibition and, by extension, immerse them in the history of Nicopolis in an engaging and educational manner. Through experiential learning, emphasizing observation and interactive engagement, we aim to foster a deep connection with archaeological sites and museums. We also instill an understanding of essential behavioral norms, such as following designated pathways, refraining from stepping on antiquities, disposing of waste responsibly, speaking softly, and more. Ultimately, we seek to nurture a genuine interest in our cultural and historical heritage.

Did you know…

2021-Present

From 2021 onwards, we have introduced an engaging digital initiative titled “Did you know.” This interactive educational application is a rich source of information about the monuments within the archaeological site of Nicopolis. Accessible to all individuals from the comfort of their own space via the website Did you know that… It also serves as a valuable resource for educational programs conducted within the museum and schools alike.

The content is tailored for students in Primary (grades 4 to 6) and Secondary Education.

OBJECTIVE

The primary aim of this digital initiative is to connect students and, more broadly, enthusiasts of the AMN and Nicopolis with the Roman city’s monuments. The primary focus is on imparting fundamental knowledge about these historical landmarks, including their function, interpretation, and historical context.

Additionally, through the gamification process, we aim to evoke feelings of admiration for these monuments and kindle a desire among users to visit the archaeological site and the museum in person. This initiative ensures that knowledge is acquired in an enjoyable manner while also familiarizing participants with new technologies.

DESCRIPTION

The Nicopolis aqueduct

2015-Present

“The Aqueduct of Nicopolis… once upon a time…” is an interactive educational digital initiative centered around the Aqueduct of Nicopolis. This engaging application features both informative content and interactive games, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Accessible from the convenience of your personal space via the website http://www.nicopolis-aqueduct.gr/index.html, it also serves as a valuable resource for educational programs, which can be facilitated by educators within the museum or school environments.

This initiative caters to students in both Primary and Secondary Education.

OBJECTIVE

The primary aim of this digital initiative is to introduce students to Nicopolis, with a special focus on its aqueduct, recognized as one of the most significant engineering marvels of the Roman era in Greece.

Concurrently, through interactive games and activities, our goal is to inspire students, and foster a sense of awe and a strong desire to explore the archaeological site and the museum in person. This initiative ensures that students acquire knowledge in an enjoyable manner while becoming acquainted with cutting-edge technologies.

DESCRIPTION

This digital action is designed for user-friendliness, featuring a straightforward interface that’s both simple and intuitive. It consists of two components: information and interactive games.

The information section provides essential details in concise text format, accompanied by an illustrative map that combines images and text to trace the aqueduct’s path from its origin to the city. This information is pivotal to then complete the second component successfully, i.e. the interactive games.

The games section offers six distinct options, each with increasing levels of complexity: puzzle, hangman, find the pairs, find the answers, anagrams, and find the differences.

For added engagement, players have the option to form groups with the goal of achieving the fastest completion time for all the games.
